Care funding

The cost of our care services varies and is based on the specific needs of each individual. At Team24 Care, we conduct an initial personal assessment to determine your or your loved one’s care needs. We then create a Care Plan and agree on a payment method.

Team24 Care also provides training to healthcare professionals to provide clinical care and offer more affordable services to the community and local health boards.

Our Basic Rates

Our basic rates*(excluding bank holidays) are inclusive of travel costs, and vary as follows:

Live in Care – from £999.90 per week on a single basis and from £1500.00 per week for couples.

Adapted mobility car – Available for £28.00 for the first hour and £25.00 for subsequent hours (Rate includes a driver). Mileage is charged additionally at 45p per mile.

Our hourly care, support work, sleep in night and also nursing and complex medical care services are tailored to match your specific requirements and preferences. Please call us on 07455969928 so that we can discuss your needs and provide you with an accurate estimate of the cost for these services.

We have been working with private and local authority referred clients via a direct debit payment basis, paying for care each month. We work closely with the local authority or partners to agree on the best payment methods.

For information on more specific costs and services from Team24 Care, please email info@team24.co.uk or call 07455969928 selecting from the options the office closest to your residence. You can then ask to speak to the Care Manager for your area.

Benefits & Entitlements

Seeking information and advice may appear complex at first, but there are several forms of entitlements and benefits available although these will vary according to your or your loved one’s individual needs. When looking at financial provision options, in the first instance, we would encourage you or a loved one to contact the relevant local authority or primary care trust to discuss financing personal care needs.

What are my options?

Remember to consider all care funding options available, including non-means-tested and means-tested funding options, the first of which will be based on your or your loved one’s overall capital (income/savings/pensions), the second will not. Here are a few options to consider:

Disability Living Allowance (DLA)

Disability Living Allowance (DLA)is a tax-free benefit for disabled people who need help with mobility or care costs. You can claim for DLA if you are under 16 or were born after 8 April 1948 and you make a claim in the same year you stopped receiving DLA The rate you get is made up of a care component and mobility component (2 parts). How much you get depends on how your disability or health condition affects you. More information is available at Click Here

Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) helps with some of the extra costs caused by long-term ill health or a disability if you’re aged 16 to 64. You could get between £21.80 and £139.75 a week. The rate depends on how your condition affects you, not the condition itself. You’ll need an assessment to work out the level of help you get. Your rate will be regularly reassessed to make sure you’re getting the right support. More information is available at Click Here

Attendance Allowance

This is a form of tax free benefit available to people aged 65 and over who require help with personal care due to either a mental (e.g. learning) or physical (e.g. deafness) disability, or both. It is only available when an individual is classed as needing the support of a carer and is not payable due to a form of disability. You could get £55.10 or £82.30 a week to help with personal care because you’re physically or mentally disabled and you’re aged 65 or over. This is called Attendance Allowance. It’s paid at 2 different rates and how much you get depends on the level of care that you need because of your disability. More information is available at Click here

Carers Allowance

The Carer’s Allowance is £76.75 a week and is to help you look after someone with substantial caring needs. You don’t have to be related to, or live with, the person you care for. However, you do need to be aged 16 or over and spend at least 35 hours a week caring for them. The Carer’s allowance is taxable and so it may affect any other benefit payments you receive. Direct Payments

Through the local authority, some individuals are eligible for funding support via the social services department, which is based on any given individual’s income and overall capital. Today, thanks to Direct Payment methods, clients can choose how to pay for the service they require. Rather than the local authority deciding on the best provision option, Direct Payments gives the freedom and flexibility to an individual to choose – making Live in Care, above traditional forms of care, even more attractive than ever.

Continuing Care

This is a form of care payment available through the local authority, offered to people who do not require the level of support offered by an NHS hospital but nevertheless require a high degree of care on an ongoing or continued basis. Any person can apply for support but set criteria must be met before an individual can access this funding. Individuals suffering from seriously life-limiting or terminal conditions are amongst those accessing this payment most frequently. This payment is designed to cover entire care costs including all medical care, nursing care, personal care, living and accommodation costs, in the same way an NHS hospital would provide this care.

Care Fee Payment Plans

These plans are available through a local authority and provide guaranteed monthly payments to cover part or all of the home care costs required. This is available for either individuals requiring immediate care needs or, for those planning care plans towards the later years of life. Speak with an independent financial advisor or an insurance provider.
